Dina was born in Forest Hills Queens and raised in Queens, Forest Hills. She grew up there. She moved from Queens to Dix Hills Long Island before the end of her senior year in high school. She has two younger siblings as well as an elder brother. The first time she was in the world of entertainment came in the form of modeling at the age of 9 to sixteen. Her career in acting began with The Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. She studied Sanford Meisner's methods with Ron Stetson for three years. Other actors to receive such instruction include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, among other people. The actress was a part of Beverly Hills 90210, and was forced to relocate from Los Angeles to take the part. After a couple of months, she was offered the part of Johnny Mnemonic. For this film, she was the one responsible for nearly all stunts and demonstrated herself as an accomplished actor. Alongside Matt LeBlanc's agency for talent the agent of hers was involved in a range of regular roles on Friends.
